Drove to a town about 20 miles north and hit the park. It appeared somebody had beat me to it but had left plenty of unfilled holes. I did my best to refill all the ones I found so it won't cost me my detecting privileges there. Took the family and my Wife and Kids played all day.

Got 41 memorial cents, 9 nickels, 25 dimes, 10 quarters and one 1939 Mercury Dime. Also got a Canadian cent that was cut in half. Dug the usual junk that goes along with the hobby. Got a little sick a couple times and had to take a break. I get dehydrated very easily since I no longer have my Colon :sadsmiley:

Anyway, had a great day. My new V3i got her first taste of silver and I got another Merc for my collection.

Congrats on the merc. Good job on filling in the holes by a lazy detectorist. All it takes is one guy to ruin it for everybody.

Great score on the merc there Tim  the more you use that V3i the more you'll like it better, when I first bought mine I thought the MXT was just as good if not better but once I installed a good program into it for my area, the V3i had the MXT hands down all the way around, it's a much better discriminator than the MXT.

I really like the V3i, this is my second one. I got in a spot after Dad died and lost interest in detecting. He was my hunting buddy for many years so it just wasn't the same for me so I sold my V3 (after getting the "i" upgrade done to it). I got the bug again and looked at everything out there but I was certain I just would not be happy unless I got another V3i.
They do make a lot of chatter if you don't get your settings right but thats all part of the learning process. It goes deep and it has me wishing my Lesche was a little longer. I dug almost 9 inches yesterday for a dime and the Lesche handle was a little wide for the hole. The area was obviously filled in at one time since it's rare in this area to have a clad dime that deep.
