✅ SOLVED Broad axe/age?

[pepperj]

Posting up a buddy's axe, not the original handle but it's one wicked looking axe close to 12"! Wondering if anyone knows what the age would be?

This is a contemporary (if not the same manufacturer) of your blade - mid 19th Century,
and apparently repaired at some stage by S. Francis - as yours also appears to have been.

There is some very interesting information on the blade markings here;
Mid 19th century Broad Axe - continued

Cheers, Mike

Thank you very much for the information Mike, and it'll make the woodworker very pleased to know the history of this axe.
