All Treasure Hunting
Took a day off work today. Went on my normal journey into the woods to detect when I tripped over a branch. My machine flew and the housing popped right off the shaft. Walked back to the vehicle where I had some electrical tape and made a quick repair. Took the bad luck for what it was and went to another patch of woods. Got lucky there and brought my spirits back up. Found a 1930 Merc, 3 wheats, and a round ball.

Thanks RJ. So happy I had a roll of electrical tape to continue. If not. I was taking my boot lace off.

That sucks! Glad you found some stuff though and at least it still works. This might be a good time to buy a backup detector! :tongue3:

Sucks to break your machine but at least you were able to eek out some good finds, it's an easy fix I saw somewhere on the internet

That sucks!! Glad to see you found some silver to ease the pain.

You should consider a second machine, CTX Minelab to be exact. Lol

Way to work around problems! That is the way to do it, and find some treasure to boot! Best of luck to you!

Alway a silver lining to every dark cloud, nice results.

Love the picture background of paper moneys btw!

Congrats on powering through, NW, and finding some great goodies. I totally relate, my three year old ATPro has on it, at this moment, super glue sealing the scratched and scored viewing screen, black electrician's tape holding the battery pack together, a replacement METAL arm cuff due to me breaking three plastic ones, and an aftermarket set of headphones that I spliced, soldered, and shrink wrapped to the old cord stem! It works, I find lots of stuff. Hang in there. Sub 8-)

Oooh, make sure you've not cracked some of the waterproof housing if you ever intend to dunk it!

SKippy

Thanks CT! Couldn't give up one of the few chances to get out lately

Nice save of a detecting day! .....and the hunt goes on!
Congrats on silver, wheats, and a round ball!

It's good you didn't break any of you!

Thanks! Never let the small stuff get you. Small step for a giant I always say.

Thanks Sub! Tape and glue add character. In the end. Doing its job is all that matters. I can picture mine all bandaged as well

aww man--- me being electrician-- i love the fix haha. awesome finds ---maybe the ball is actually an old time bullet? Anyway taking my butt outside and continuing the hunts ---woohooo gotta love our hobby

Well now you have a hip mounted detector and didnt cost you a cent. Maybe you can work out a Velcro fix for the shaft?

Will, you should post warnings if you ever post such a gruesome picture again!

Some sweet finds. Hope the machine can be repaired easily. Good luck on it.
