Depending on the size they could be a cutting tool made to skin are cut something at the time and the scraper almost looks like a knapping core. Good finds:thumbsup:

That's what I was thinking too, maybe a cutting tool of sort. Its odd that they look alike and from the location. Here is another pic with a quarter. They are not very big.

Interesting finds. I wonder about some things I pick up that look simialer. Are you sure the end scraper looking thing is broke? Looks to me it may be a whole scraper with a flat bottom. Then it looks kind of like a core as monsterack stated to.

The scraper/core does have a flat bottom and the other has what looks like a clean break instead of roundish like the rest of so who knows. I have pulled pounds of chips and large cores where material has been chipped of. It must have been a site for working material.

Your first piece looks like a core, and those two in the second photo may have been used a flake knives. "jmo"

The other pieces you have are likely scrap or debitage that got used a time or two. I know they are at least debitage. Nice day out Paul! Told you the rain was coming!!

The flake ones we call flake blades if there is any chipping on the edges. The round one is a nice oval scraper.....great finds

Rusty, that small field has more flakes than any place I've ever seen. Its littered everywhere. I don't know if it was a camp site or what. I have only found a couple of finished pieces though. I have also found several hand size cores where you can see where they were knapping off pieces. One big piece I thought may have been the start of an Axe but I think it was a source piece.

Rock, the two small pieces don't have any fine chipping. Its just odd they were so much alike. Maybe they were a one time use.

You are probably on their knapping grounds. Journey about 200 yards. You'll start finding points.

Somewhere near you will find points, I have a field that is full of flakes and I only find small bird points, so look real close. I have to hunt that field on my knees, because standing I walk right pass them.

I hear ya. I picked up one small flake and it turned out to be a nice little point.

I did that a couple of months ago. Thought it was a flake till I picked it up. Smallest point I have ever found. Gave all of them to the land owner in a frame.

That was nice of you. I'm sure he liked it.

He seemed like he did. He is mostly retired with health issues but his son is running most of it for him now. The elder does enjoy the artifacts he says he likes looking at them. I have given him 3 frames and some Polished Beaver Sticks. I try to give him something every year so he doesn't think I have forgotten who lets me enjoy all of his properties. It gives me so much enjoyment. HH, rock
