I'm calling this day 2 but it the first of the grids. Started on the outer edge & after doing a large chunk, we wondered for awhile to boost our finds.
2hrs 45mins:

10 Roman Coins
Roman Hob-nail
Small bit of Roman Bracelet
Roman Ring Bezel with blue enamel stone
Broken Roman Hair Pin
Possible Roman Test piece in Lead (Hair Pin)
Roman Steel-yard Balance Arm with 2 wire attachments (my most complete example)
Stunning 1st C AD Roman Head Stud Fibula with Pin & some Red Enamel

That must have piqued your interest when you pulled the roman steel yard balance out...not an everyday find...pretty cool...is the brooch your best one found so far? Love that there is still color to be seen...

Found quite a few pieces of Steelyard balances bar but none as complete.
This is probably my best Roman Brooch:
Above was before it got its name 'Brooch Field'

That horse rider brooch is really something as well....can't wait to see more recoveries!
