Brothers & Others Hunt Day 5 - Reale-y good day!!

Yup, thats right, little brother got his first spanish silver today with a nice 1781 half reale. Jim found the most outstanding 1876 Seated liberty quarter. His first seated coin. (I found a 1926 buffalo nickel and a 1950 Rossie). Jim came up with two (thats right 2) Canada Militia buttonsand a nice horse button, and Rick got a beautiful colonial button, (the little button on the right is mine).
Rick got two great old colonial keg taps and I found a really nice small brass lock.
Together we found some great little jewelry items and doodads. It was a fantastic day and was an unplanned spot to detect. I ran into the owner at the post office this morning and asked him if it would be ok and he said sure. He even came over to see how we were doing.
We will be heading back there in the morning for a while before we go hit another spot. Thanks for looking...Lance

I would have a hard time leaving a site like that.
Would hunt it until I thought it was hunted out
and start over again.

really nice stuff lance! how long does it take you to line up all of the sites that you guys hit every year? you guys always find such cool stuff, you must spend a lot of time researching the spots you guys plan to hunt. congrats on some great digs!

Well now this is about what I dreamed last night

You guys really know your stuff, there's no doubt about that.

And just think, if you hadn't found that spot all those goodies would probably have eventually been lost forever via land development.

Excellent job guys.....Those reales are nice to find, and when there is early spanish silver there are the U.S. coins ...great finds! The third picture down and the bottom left that round piece with the flower disign I have the exact same piece ....Do you know what it is! I would guess ..some sort of womans buckle ! Keep on digging!!!!!! WTG

the reale is also very nice....and all the other finds too

That's some pretty terrific finds. Finding the owners of silverware, that's something Ive never heard done before. But I guess, artifacts that old, would be appreciated by the families. congrats.
