Howdy folks, so I haven't posted much lately because I haven't been out digging for a few weeks. I'm just so busy these days. I think my schedule is finally starting to clear up though so I should be able to get out a lot more in the coming weeks. I was not very hopeful of this spot as it seems like all the old schoolhouse sites (especially those that appear on the 1870s map) have been hunted out around here, however, within two minutes I had found the little silver thing and a 1903 IH. I thought to myself "today's going to be my seated day;" I didn't end up getting any seated but I know it's out there and I'm perfectly satisfied with my first Barber half and dime. Thanks for looking and enjoy the photos!

3 1/4 hours at the schoolhouse. I really like the big America-shaped token thing!

A couple closeups. This is my first cross pendant as well. Not silver but I was very happy to find one.

Do you guys think the bottom middle thing is a pipe? Sure looks like it to me and I don't see what else it could be but you never know. Happy hunting!

The barber dime and half were right next to eachother and I think they were consecutive digs (my memory is a little fuzzy). I found the dime, the half, and my next target was a small, round, gold-colored piece of aluminum and after my great last couple of holes I thought it was gold. Not gold, but my hands were still shaking from finding a barber half so I can't complain!

Neat finds! It does look like a pipe bowl. Curious, what does the text on the USA emblem read?

Thanks, It says "32nd national convention united states local building and loan associations Cleveland Ohio July 22, 23, 24 1924" Another piece of local history!

Sweet silver Finds, and the other stuff is Super as well...!
I'm thinking that star-shaped item is a Rawl, from a set of spurs.
...and that silver item is the lid to a Match Safe - that pattern on it,
is the "scratcher" to light the match...!

Thanks for the info Eyemustdigtreasure! I'm not sure how spur rawls work but the back of it looks like it is a pin. It's also very flimsy feeling and I'm not sure how it would hold up. Either way I'll take it.

Thanks, Wildcat! I usually hunt 1790s-1850s sites so it's nice to be able to finally get some silver... oh, and the quantity of finds, at my old sites I never find more than 5-6 relics and 1-2 coppers so it's soooo nice to have a target every couple minutes. I'm gonna get me a reale one of these days! :laughing7:
