Looks like some kind of buckle not sure any suggestions

Shoe buckle tongue, chape, and spikes. The shoe buckle frame is still out there!!!! This fell out of a shoe buckle. Mid to late 1700s, you must be in a good spot, find the rest!!!!

Yeap, the guts of an 18th C Shoe Buckle.

That is an excellent find. Go back to that spot and dig ALL repeatable signals! There should be a frame in that spot. As intact as that guts are, the frame should be complete too.

Really nice!! Shoe buckles are awesome to find! If you are finding shoe buckles it usually means there's other colonial goodies lurking nearby!
