I have yet to buy me some calipers, so I don’t have measurements on these bullet casings. However, I have placed them against a quarter for size reference. Can anyone help me determine about how old these casings are or what company produced them? The two smaller ones have “US” and “P” headstamps while the longer one has an “R” headstamp. These were all found in the same yard in North Texas, and they were all about 3-4 inches deep. P could be several companies, but if US made it's Peters Cartridge Company, Cincinnati, OH.

R could be several companies, but if US made it's Robin Hood Ammunition Co., Swanton, VT, if Canadian made it's Dominion Cartridge Co., Montreal, Quebec, Canada for T Eaton Co. of Toronto in 1930.

US is United States Cartridge Co., Lowell, MA.

Awesome site for decoding cartridge headstamps.

They are rimfire cartridge shells, possibly 22 caliber, or something small like that. Kind of late for me to be getting into my ammo stash to compare the ammo size compared to a quarter.

Looks like .22 shorts and .22 long rifle (or possibly long). You’d need some precise dimensions for someone to know for sure, but it seems highly likely.
