When your lighting is that bad, it would possibly be better to use your flash setting. The problem may also be the shadow from your camera and hands.

Definate Livery Button, normally date to about 1830. However they normally have a backmark which will date them more precisely.

The Noble family thing is a little bit of a red herrin. Most got 'generic' crests & were just middle class wanting to be something more....

Thanks for the ID. That is neat. It says on back MartinStan and also says something else but I cant make it out
