Button ID

[mramsoil]

I hope someone can ID and date this button for me. It's 17mm dia. with small stars around the edge on the front and *D&O*NV for the backmark. I have this posted under buttons with no answers, so I figured I'd try here.
Thanks.

A button similar to this one was recently posted. Here's a link to that discussion. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/375825-button.html

are you sure it's not a Hem Weight ?

Is it heavy ?

only thing I've ever seen with a bar like that were Dress/Curtain Weights

I was also thinking a hem weight.

I'm also wondering if the back says D&O NY, not D&O NV. if so, it could be related to the Delaware Otsego railway somehow....

Might make sense considering you're in New York
