Button information

This is a flat button with an eagle on the back with the words "Warrant Standard Gilt".

I would say that it dates pre CW,However that is a very nice button.
I found one last year but mine is a little different than yours
Congrats on your find, I think that is the third different one that I have seen with a eagle on it

But Fortbball9, your eagle is on the side without the shank. What's going on with the eagle and the shank and the maker on the same side?

Mine is on the back also,If you look close you can see where the shank was.The front of my button also is plain.The pic is of two different button that I found that day.The dip in the middle of the eagle is where the
shank was the shield is a little off to the right of the eagle,like a navy button.The writing around the edge
is the backmark Standard Rich Colour

The plain flat buttons with Eagles of various designs on the back was rather common back in the early 1800's. The British button manufacturers were doing it to increase sales here in America by playing on patriotism for a sales gimmick.
