But can't really figure out what it was
With the round tab on the back.
Made out of copper, or brass.

Dime for size.....

With nothing that detatches, you can probably rule out brooch and pin. It definitely was a piece of Jewelry of some type.

Faintly looks like some writing or hallmark there. Any chance of a clear close up. But don't take the picture face on.

When you shoot deteriorating grave stones that's aren't very legible you always shoot from the side so the shadow falls into the inscribed part, or across the raised lettering as the case may be. Giving definition.

Try that. Move the camera slightly to the left or right.

This thing looks alot like the umbrella/parasol parts that have been found. Could this be the very top piece?

Here you go Doublet2A. This is the plain more modern model. I think this one is more from the Victorian era with all the fancy decorations and all.

Just a little WD-40 and she should be back in business in no time.

There are no moving parts, or pivots. But I do see the similarity in the two pieces.
