Caballo Mountains in New Mexico

Moved into the area recently. South of Truth or Concequenses N.M. In the Caballo Mountains there is talk of Good Placer Gold being found there. Also, it is supposed to be good metal detecting there as well. Is there anyone that knows where this area is?Also West of town there is a community called Hillsboro, it is supposed to be good also.

Hey, when I lived in El Paso, I used to go to the apple festival in Hillsboro every year. I dont remember what the date was, but should be easy to find out. Its the same weekend as the chili festival in Deming, as we used to hit that on the way. Hillsboro does look like a great place to do some MDing. Very old.
