Camp set-up

Just a camp sleeping tip. The ground is still pretty cold up here so anything you do to get up off of it helps. Plus sometimes it's not level. This is a set-up I use if I have the materials on hand and the time. The bigger log is on the downhill side so it's more level. This is not finished, as I put in more cross pieces and pegged the side log. I suppose you could top it with pine branches or sage brush but I have a good sleeping pad. And not trying to get too political, as long as I can camp in places like this I think America is still great.

And another camping tip I should mention. This is bear country and they're starting to come out. You need to buy one of those bear bells, a warning device sold up here at anyplace that carries sporting goods. Now for all you kids in Texas, that bear is gonna buck up when you try to put that bell on him, so be prepared.
