Can anyone explain what makes a machine function?

This answer would fill a couple books and has. :icon_study:

Wasn't looking to get an in length description, just a very short summery.

Sandman is right. There is no short summary. That's like asking "why and how do computers work?" Unless you meant something as simple as "you wave the coil, and it beeps over metal?"

TAKODA,
Thank you very much for the response.
I am guessing the frequency has something to do with the depth as well? Any input on this?

TAKODA,
Thanks again for the reply. That's pretty much what I was looking for. Maybe this will help others as well.

Thanks again.

sorry I just can't resist ;D

What makes a machine function??---DUH BATTERIES(ok yes I am blonde)

I have heard the techinal talk and my mind glazes over, so I will leave it to the pros and be glad someone knows so that I can turn on my machine and go.

Aren't you a Strawberry Blonde? That makes you smarter than a run of the mill blonde.
Plus, you hunt Minelab. Nuff said. ;D

I thought it was all the smoke? As long as you keep the smoke inside the electronics part, it works!

I thought by turning it on made it function.. ??? ??? :icon_scratch: :hello2:
