You found that laying in the sand, and in that condition? Doesn't look like it's ever been in a
dry climate.

For something such as this, I wouldn't hesitate to contact a local firearms museum,
or find an expert on antique firearms in your area. FWIW, it looks to me like a Dueling Pistol.

I agree (contact a local firearms museum) DizzyDigger. You can't tell from his picture if it is a repro or original. Now, all my searches show they all were repro's - couldn't find one article that they made this Dueling Pistol with 1807 stamped on the barrel - sure sounds like they all were repro's.
