Hey yall! Was planting some trees around the house today and this fella popped out of the ground about 4 inches down. Wasn’t even metal detecting! Can anyone provide an approximate date for this pin? I haven’t been able to find much online. Thanks in advance!

Don’t think that’s a button. Either a hat or collar pin.

I’ve found some that I’m guessing are ww1/2. This one looks more modern.

US Army Enlisted collar disk aka collar brass. Based on the back of the disk it looks to be a Post WWII Neo Type III. This is based on the plate that holds the posts for the clutches, which are the Ballou style (Dimpled), and the two part construction (Meaning the Disk and U.S. being separate parts).
