He made paper fasteners. Perhaps the lid from a container of those? If so, it could be any early tin lid. Once his item gained popularity, the name evolved to OK fasteners, with a big "O.K." in the center of the lid.

Well, it looks like he may have made paper fasteners as well...

Additional research says he held patents on several other office related items, including embossing machines. Could be his logo from one of those items as well.
