Can someone tell me what branch of the Military this WW1 helmet is from?

I just found this for $50 at a garage sale (my kind of treasure hunting) and want to know if anyone knows what branch it is from and what it is worth?

This looks to be an american "brodie" helmet, marines as you can see by the eagle, globe and anchor. If you found that, heck of a nice find there are some out there in way worse condition selling for $100. Would be nice if it has the original leather liner in it but those things harldy last because of the material.

it may be british..or American..i have seen both painted like that...

the liner should have some markings...a broad arrow stamp is british...
