Cant go to Chisolm Trail hunt+ something important to say...

wow jd.. i think anyone that's been on this forum for a while and knows you respects you .... there's always someone around that wants to make people as miserable as themselves though..
i've always been a tad jelous of your finds myself, and i'm just starting to find some of the cool items you do,, when i got my first half-dime my first thought was .. hey ! a JD type find !!
i'm not kidding .....

i keep a post office box for work, and would never give my or anyones address on here.. better safe than sorry..
i truly feel for the elders mostly, so nice, and get burned...

That is pretty messed up. Is there anyway to show the true "proceeds" from the event to the landowners just so they dont feel taken? I never did get around to sending them a thank you note, wish I would have gotten that done now.

Can we get a clue as to who it is? Dont want to threaten them but would prefer not to get caught in some issue because I was dealing with whoever it was and didnt know......

JD, I am sorry to hear about this scum ruining a great site for you. If you know who it is, you should expose him! Jealousy is the green-eyed monster! What an idiot!

Keep the fever high, bud.

what a crook,my wife and i came down from iowa ,had a great time. it was cheap at twice the price.wound do it again in a heartbeat. as for any profit, my wife is a numbers person ,says there's no way they could have made a profit. my 2cents, who cares!!!we had a great time.

Man, that's messed up. It isn't hard to do the math to see no profit was made. I thought you were asking too little from the get go, but you wanted to keep it cheap so as many as possible would come. I am soooo sorry to hear this. They are such nice people and to think they will now have a distrustful attitude towards anyone who approaches them over this is despicable. Someone has some bad karma headed their way.

Yes please. Tell us in a pm so we know who to look out for. Please.
That's ridiculous. I wondered why I haven't seen you on here that much lately. I figured you were just taking it easy since your accident a while back.
Take care-

If you have proof of who it was,
I'd like to see it, so I could ban him from here
for being an Enemy of the Forum.

& see what I could do to have other forums
do the same ;)

That's truly a shame that anyone would do something like that. I hope you had an opportunity to talk to the elderly owners and tell them the truth of the matter.

I didn't get an opportunity to join you guys at your hunt, but I read all the posts leading up to it and after and regretted not finding time and $ to go.

If you ever feel up to organizing another one (although at this point nobody would hold it against you if you chose not to), I hope to meet up.

The one thing I would say though is that if you miss coming here and posting and reading, try hard not to let 1 bad apple spoil the whole bunch. I'm sure alot of us miss seeing your finds and hearing from you.

Absolutely! I sure do, anyway.

thank you guys so much Steve and I talked with Dave for about 3 hours I saw the papers and the figures that were written down to prove we made money I went through each and every detail with Dave and proved we actually lost money after we were done with the figures we lost $1143.52 cents and thats not including gas going back and forth to the site 8 times in 3 months to clean it up 2 hours each way...he felt bad and shook Steve and I's hand but you could still see the hurt in his eyes and he doesn't want to bother with another situation like that and I cant blame him... I dont know who it was just as the people who used to sling bad things about some of my my posts here they remained anonymous.
On the bright side it is continuing with Birdie and the Kansas hunt, I never wanted it to be a JD thing anyway I absolutly fell in love with some of you that came to the hunt you will always be in my heart I couldnt ask for better friends when I had my accident than some people I have met here at treasure net... I havnt been detecting I'm still pretty hurt and Im having a hard time getting around hopefully I will have some finds to show in the near future again... I sure have the spots just waiting!!!! lol lol
I want to go to Kansas sooooooo bad, I even quit my band so I have a chance to go but I have no way of getting there... with my injuries I still cant drive a car only maybe 15min. 1/2 hour at a time well I hope you all have a great time. jd

J.D. I wasnt at the hunt but I wanted to be,I read all the posts about it and read Nanas blog. I think anyone at Tnet would agree that you are one of the most respected hunters on this forum and I think its just awful that someone did this. Im glad you were at least able to patch it up some with the folks. I think Monty had a good idea of at least letting the people that did attend sent those folks a letter or a card. I think that at least anyone who attended the hunt would be above suspicion. If nothing else perhaps you could just let them see a copy of this thread. I think you know that you really have a ton of great friends on this forum, cant let one bad apple spoil the whole barrel, come on back and let us see what you are digging...Shoot

Hey, J.D. Got an idea let me know what you think those of us that can write a letter saing thanks to the folks, and give it to you in person at this hunt, others on this or a special thread, and then you could print it off for them!

That way they can't be hurt by anyones nasty #!^^)*^$ , again!

Wow, I can't believe anyone on here would do such a thing. It was probably some SOB that wasn't even a member.

I'm glad you "patched" things up with land owners. I know there is no way to stop his pain, but I am confident you have shown him you are a person of integrity.

I wish I could have made the hunt, and maybe I will make one in the future.

As for you not posting.... I will tell you the same thing I told "sparkymaster", don't let one person take away something you love. You have worked very hard at this, this hobby is in your blood. We are a family here at Tnet, and yes, every family has a black sheep jackass.

Once you start swinging the coil and posting again, you will feel a whole lot better. I'm not sure what your injury is, but you can bet when you are happy and doing the things you love, you will heal so much faster.

Don't give up on the couple yet, they've been hurt, see if you can get a letter, not just from those you attended, but as many Tnet family members put together and present it to them. Let them know we care about their feelings, we have nothing to hide from them and let all of us show our appriciation for their hospitality.

You know, some people just suck. But so many of us here are genuine and we want you to "come back home" This is where you belong, this is what will heal you.

I lived in Nebraska for a long time, one of these days, I will coordinate a trip back with one of the awesome group hunts out there and I will join in the fun. (and by then you should be back in a band and will be providing the evening entertainment.)

Think about, and we will see your posts soon.

Sorry to hear someone is such a jerk. I haven't been on TN much at all this year. I haven't even been able to get out MD once. I hope to change that next year and go out a lot. I just wish I could find someone local to hunt with. It's pretty boreing going out by yourself and my wife isn't interested in going with me. Could someone send me some links about your latest group hunt. I'd like to read about it.

I think Mental Granny has a great idea

I wasn't there or involved, unfortunate that one's own unhappiness or disregard of others ruins it for others and hurts all folks involved.

Daniel from Ohio, if you can make it to Louisiana, that's the latest and greatest group hunt. Long way to go, I know, but you will love it and meet some of the most gracious folks you've ever met.

Give it a try! Go to TNET MEMBER HUNTS - Official site of LOUISIAN BAYOU HUNT!
