In my totally non-expert opinion, I think everybody has been side tracked by the OP asking to identify his cartridge, whereas I don't believe it is a cartridge at all.

What is the substance inside the 'capsule'? Is it soft and waxy? Could it be something like a lipstick container and the ball is sprung so that it helps retain the lid which slides over the capsule?

That's what I was going to ask. Do you guys think that the wall of that "case" is awefully thick or is it just me? Maybe the "ball" is just that, a ball bearing for a detent and we're running down the wrong road. Dont mean to stir it up. Have NO experience with pin fire.
