It's completely shaped by the natural forces of erosion over many, many thousands of years. There are countless rocks that when in the hand feel as though it was specifically designed to fit perfectly in the hand. I've used them before because I just didn't have a hammer handy and with that a common country rock became a tool, but not by my design.

For sure. I agree completely and understand erosion but it's been carved up I can see for sure the detail and the pictures may not do it justice.

It was in a creek so def. erosion is present but it's been carved. I'm told by the experts here it's native but I don't think so.

No evidence of anything man-made. Natural rock.
It's already been looked at and authenticated as native. I dont think it is though.

Sorry. It is natural, formed by erosion. Who told you it is
As native?

I'm not sorry. I got an appraisal as well for stupid money. Rock or native. It's expensive. Not concerned abouth money I just don't think it's native. Maybe native somewhere else. I'll see if I can get better angles and light to help you see what everyone else does in person.

Might need to use the go pro and not my phone. I'll charge it up and see if we can get better pictures.

Asking for what? I have you all saying it's a rock and that's just fine. I have no problem with your judgement just I've already had it looked at and will try here in a bit to show you better pictures. I know what you said and the archeologist and I disagree with both. On one hand it's a rock on the other it's native. I know it's not a rock because it's carved clearly and clearly eroded but I don't think it's native because nothing about it looks native. I'll do my best with what I have to help you out. Least I can do.

This is rock number 5 I accidentally took a picture of which was classified as a knapping tool and has a face right in the middle and lots of other stuff. Same with the the rock I'm trying to shows but there are animals on it as well as faces. It's darker in color and hard to get a picture of though but I will try.

Looks like a rock to me. Your archeologist may be an AINO. Archeologist in Name Only.
I think most archaeologist are that way. In this case he was right though but not right about who made it.

You go from this

Looks and feels like a handle to tool or blade maybe. "NOT SURE"

To saying this

"I know what you said and the archeologist and I disagree"

You and this archeologist you mentioned seemed to have already an opinion before you even posted this rock. Why ask from anyone here. Your only gonna get opinions that won't line up with what you believe. As you stated in the beginning you were not sure what it is. So let me explain what asking for what means. You'll be getting a lot of options from those who see just a rock and I happen to be one of them.

Sorry you paid someone to give an appraisal, that is why they told you it is native, it is hard to charge someone for appraisal of natural stone.

Your 2nd rock is natural, the faces you see is caused by pareidolia.

Thank you for your opinion and a lot of people share your view. Unless you have hands on though your opinion is still based on a picture and how well I take it and can convey what I'm looking at. Which is understandable. I get told all the time when I'm finding four leaf clovers people can't see them even when I give them the patch it's most def. In and watch as they search individually each clover even batting the four leaf around and not seeing it. I would call that blind but that's not the case they just don't know how to look or what to look for. More people can't find them that can. Think that may be the cae here but could be my pictures. I'll try and do better.
