Hello everyone!
I have been looking at this scarab for about 25 years now but never bothered to find out anything about it. Of course, when I first saw it, it was before the internet came into existence. I tried to find something on the internet about two years ago and again today but did not find anything.
The only thing I know is that it was given to my mother by a relative that traveled back and forth to Africa throughout the 80's. He is now deceased.
It is cast iron, about two inches long and using a postal scale, it weighs about 6 ozs.
We would appreciate any additional information anyone can provide...such as how old it might be, what it may have been used for, origin, etc.
