Hey folks, been awhile since ive been out and about and first thing i hit in a public park on the "back side of a museum" is this River God coin and it all seamed possible considering where i was. I about you no what my pants until i started thinking about what i hit on the meter and it wasn't gold. Thinking somehow someway the detector is wrong i carefully field cleaned it and Crap! the word COPY on it.

30 min of swinging, 60 sec of pure adrenalin. Awesome fun! On to the next treasure.

River-God coin i thought was going to make me rich... Booo
Anyone know where these come from? Ive read privet party's from the 70's... ???

I've seen some identical ones on the net. Supposed to be an ancient Greek coin depicting a minotaur. I don't know if it is a copy of an actual coin or a fantasy piece.

I have seen these, in fact I have one somewhere- yes, it is a copy of a real ancient coin, probably pre-Roman. I do know the real ones are extremely rare and valuable. They originated in the middle east, I think, but not sure exactly where. You might post it on the what-is-it forum.
