Central Texas Arrowhead

I think I found my first arrowhead today in Coryell Creek, located in Central Texas. Can anyone tell me if this is an arrowhead? It’s not in the best shape but anyone that can give me information about the history of this arrowhead (if it is one), I’d greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I believe it is an artifact but it will take a better set of eyes than mine to tell you the type. Congrats. I like it.

Congrats on your first point. Looks to have a stemmed base. One of the Texas people will know type.

Looks like one to me. I found several near the Colorado River in McCulloh Co. and all but one were very crude. Guy there told me they were 5-10k yr. old. Nice find. Good luck.

Square stem point generally fall into the late archaic time period. Lots of exceptions, but that's what most of them are. Gary

Of Course that Projectile Point is an Native American Artifact. And the location you found it is very helpful.

There is in fact a CORYELL TYPE (reference photo: OVERSTREET) found in Coryell County, Texas, that seems to match the long-stem point you found.

Serrations would have nailed the point type down a little better, but the point has been battered, in which case that would account for the missing teeth (as we sometimes call them).
