Very cool find!

That is a great find... I found a similar Liberty myself and have it in a very safe place... Does anybody know of any good/great places in Massachusetts that I can check out?!!!...

not true Tony.click on individual pics they get larger.you can plainly see the word America on the reverse of your coin.i highlighted each letter so you can compare
HMNut is right on. This coin has more detail than you may think. Just a thought but my buddy owns a coin shop and he's stuck some of my finds under his microscope to look at detail. I took these pics of a seated dime and 2 Reales thru it. I'm sure any coin dealer would have something similar. image-3947819959.webp image-4285365726.webp image-3844729673.webp image-706448208.webp

Killer coin!!!!!! I dug one years ago and go figure it had a nail driven through the center.
Oh Dan that's not fair man. What a heartbreaker that is. I'd almost rather not find one at all...almost :-)

Good job, I would be happy with that.

Really great find!

Great find! I can still dream of finding one of those.

Awesome find! Congrats! Banner find for sure!

Tony12100- it also helps if you give a little of the back story on finding the chain cent, like the age of the property it was found on, how far down it was things like that. You don't want to give the location away, just a little story about finding it does help.

Haaaaaa I just looked, my computer is all acting weird, I'm trying to get it fixed, I'm getting antsy, be headed out on the road again soon. So many states so little time!

That's fantastic! Your find made my day - I'm thrilled for you!

YES! !!!! Congratulations!
Although I found a chain cent myself years ago. I tried to get it incapsulated from a grading company. (PGCS) Came back un-incapsulated saying it was" unverifiable".
I also noticed the price has declined over the years due to the number of chains being found!?
What does everyone think about fakes?

Very nice rare find. Congratulations
