Hi all!

My name is Charlie and I would like first to introduce myself. I'm old, live in the desert and new to Treasurenet.

I hope to read some interesting prospecting posts and ask some questions as I begin to prospect Gold for myself. I hope to own a claim and want to find places to prospect that are not already claimed and have gold.

My first questions comes from a recent search I did looking for gold maps.... I couldn't find many. Then I found a site with what they say are "AI Gold Maps"..

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Charlie, look into LandMatters web site. Spend a lot of time there. Be careful to spend some time educating yourself so as to not stake over other miners or inadvertently claim jump. Spend time at your local recorders office as that is a critical piece of the legal claiming process. BLM does not determine the validity of claims, they collect money and provide indexes. Welcome Aboard! You didn't list your state in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - members may have more success helping you (your location may help etc.)...

Will do... Have you heard anything about AI maps? Isn't it about time AI helps us find gold; it does everything else... I'm not sure what to believe.

Ain't that the truth. I know it's all around me. I also know it won't walk to me, I have to walk to it.

Actually getting to the point of gold finding being easy and kind of like work, does tamp down the gold fever.

I’ve walked it to the floor mats of my pickup truck before. Not kidding. I vacuumed my truck out and panned it and found a picker and three or four fly poop pieces.

AI isn’t the answer. Research and exploration is the answer. I’d say following in the footsteps is the best first course of work.

As someone who appreciates different points of view... Maybe you and I are not thinking AI could be as useful as it can be? I don't mind following, but I have a leader instinct in me. I am not reporting what I found online... I was hoping someone had experienced it themselves..

Welll I’m not saying not to try leveraging AI. But talking to old time miners (the ones not physically able to hike the Mtn’s and shovel dirt will tell you way more than a computer. Give up any ideas of finding undiscovered areas with gold deposits. Follow the miners and take advantage of what wasn’t profitable to mine at the time, which is now. There has been everything written about historical gold mining, you just have to read and explore. My 2 cents. There have been 100’s of thousands before us that were desperate or determined to at least try. They were pretty good at leaving disturbance of their efforts that were based on shoveling, blasting, and washing.
