Hey Jean..That would be nice. But facts are facts. Nuggets are rare finds. Micro-gold and small flakes are the normal finds when mining Placer Gold. If you have any problem with this answer just go to Dredging/panning/slucing and ask them if I am right. By the way...How many Nuggets have you ever found?...Art

And no offense, but this argument is ooooold and laaaaaame. I bet I've read 1,000 posts about this, with ZERO conclusive or constructive thoughts among them! Booooring.

When i was first looking for my metal detector, I read a thousand of those posts too, then i fouind posts where two people took a Radio Shack Bounty Hunter and cleaned an area out, then a pro came in behind them with his Minelab and found some stuff, but not all that much. That proved to me that a cheapo detecter would find most of the stuff in an area, but to get at everything, the Minelab was worth the money. Where is this type thing from the dowsers? Maybe I just missed it, but it seems to me that you guys like a good fight, and pick any opportunity to defend your art, but never take the opportunity to show it off. If I had some mystical power like that, I'd be trying to get my own TV show...seriously.

I'm not even that skeptical about it, I watched my grandfather use witching sticks to pick a spot to dig a well...they hit water. There may be water everywhere around his house for all I know, but then again he could have picked the single spot in his enture yard that would produce it. I read lots of claims, lots of nay-sayers, and zero actual usable data to make up my own mind. Why is that?

Can you dowse under water? If so, I know an area where there is KNOWN spanish silver laying under the sand. Any dowsers that SCUBA dive out there? If so, I'd bet money that SeaHunter would let you come work with him. Come find some silver with us (I gaurantee I will come up with some) and I promise I will tell everyone about it if a dowser finds some too. I'd bet $100 right now that no dowser would show up, because you guys seem afraid to prove your talents. I for one would LOVE to see it in action, and have invited many to join me on land and cache hunts, always with an excuse or a last minute cancellation. These were well researched caches that were out of reach of my detector, so actually gave dowsing the benefit of the doubt and asked someone just to come try, but he no-showed. It seems to me that you could stop all of this bantering if just ONE person would go to just ONE location and prove just ONE time that had the ability to do what you say you can. Yet I have never found any such occurence...why not?

When I dowse a chart or map I will not know if a wreck is there or not and if the wreck has charted or not or it may be an old wreck or a new unknown wreck.
I have no idea. I am not involved with all that much Research and when I start this TEST I prefer to know NOTHING about where old wrecks are. That is up to those that dive the wreck.
In the past I have only dowsed one location and that was on dry land that I can prove.
I am now in the process of dowsing the Atlantic Ocean off the East Coast of Florida. I will start at Vero Beach and go north to Cape Canaveral. I will record will record every hit I make. These hits can be cross referenced with known wrecks of which I have no record of.
All I am doing is TESTING what I can find.
I feel that I can do this in a very short time once I have the NOAA charts I will get started.
Thats about all I can say for right now.

I have showed up every time I was invited...which was indeed zero times. Your reply was spoken like a true politicain, but I'm not asking you to defend yourself or dance around my real question. Where is something I can read of a pinpoint recovery...not "I've found many things many times"...I want THIS thing at THIS time and THESE people watched me do it and were amazed. I'm sure it's out there, I just can't find it. And, to a non-dowser, it does seem mystical, I meant nothing negative by that comment. I'm really not trying to be a part of the fight, I'm trying to end the questions I have on my part. I'm scientifically minded, so yeah, this seems a little like witchcraft or something to me. So many people say they can do it, so there must be something to it. Again, I just can't find it.

Being scientifically minded is an asset in most everything we can think of; however, experience and history has shown that personal attribute to be a distinct detriment when it comes to understanding dowsing. I'll leave it up to you to figure out why.

Morning everyone,

First let me say that this topic seems to be a place for creating DEBATES.
The only reason that I created this topic was to find some CHARTS and as you can now see it contains everything else but CHARTS or MAPS.
DOWSERS DOWSE and NON DOWSERS DO NOT DOWSE.
It makes little difference what you believe AS long as you believe in YOURSELF.
I HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE TO ANYONE BUT MYSELF.
All the books in the world will not really explain how DOWSING works but they are loaded with the writers OPINION on why or why not DOWSING should or should not work.
There is not a person in the world no matter what education they have that can explain how a persons brain operates and there NEVER will be.
Dowsers that try to explain how to do this or that or who writes a book TRYING to provide details really have NO idea how dowsing works.
What I have given as far as the way I do things are just the way things work for me but it may work for some others as well. To be honest I do not care what people say Pro or Con about dowsing. I know it works at least for me and that is the only person that I have to prove anything to.
The most important thing is that you do not have to travel down a SUPER HIGHWAY where thousands have already traveled. Do not be a FOLLOWER be a LEADER. By this I am talking about BLAZING a new trail-GET OFF THE BEATEN PATH.

SWR,
THERE ARE SO MANY LAWS AND PERMITS TO GET BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN START A STANDARD SEARCH THAT YOU MUST HAVE A TEAM.The only person on my team right now is MYSELF.
But I am in the process of a New Adventure with a few Thers that already have all the permits required from the State of Florida.
I am 70 years old and have not done bad.
EXAMPLE:
I HAVE 3 SHIPWRECKS LOCATED ON THE GULF COAST WAITING FOR PERMITS.
I HAVE A 130 ACRE GOLD CLAIM WAITING FOR GOVERNMENT PAPERWORK TO BE COMPLETED.
And there are a few other smaller things.
SWR money is NOT the problem is the damn paperwork.

Capt_t I'll take a stab at answering your inquiry. First off there's a thing called harmonic resonance. If you hit a tuning fork and put it near your guitar, the guitar will start to hum that note. If you've studied Tesla, you know this is how his tuned coils work. When two things come into resonance there are lines of force that develop between to the fields much like flux lines near a magnet. The pendulum follows these lines when the thoughts of a dowser come in resonance with the target. So in a sense, like attracts like (Sorry Peg Leg). The lines of force act as a wave guide. If you have studied fields the lines of force are not straight and when they get near one pole they start to spiral. Add to this the induction of your body's charge as it influences the target when you get in close range and you get a repulsion. I also do not dowse all the time because I stay busy trying to run 2 different businesses that are not connected with Treasure Hunting. I am also an inventor with NOT one of my inventions having anything to do with dowsing. I am also trying to start 2 new ventures and am still involved in Treasure Hunting but on a part time bases.
I feel that all the NEG that is being posted here toward dowsers and dowsing in general only shows that the world is filled with close minded people. With this said I will NOT discuss or debate with these people EVER AGAIN.
