Charts:

A little humor is always good,,,, like dowsing and finding beer or wine. well i tried it last night and didn't find anything.....I don't care how steady your hand is, but when you live on a boat and its windy...well I think you all get the idea. And no I wasent drinking.....

Capr_T,
In order to dowse the maps/charts they must remain still at all times and the Plum Bob must remain steady. When I dowse the object that I am looking for the plum bob does NOT attract but repells it-SAME does NOT attract SAME.
Here is a little test you can try if you are on land.
Have some one place a silver coin in your back yard. Draw a map of this backyard.
Take another piece of silver and attact it to a piece of colorless thread. It helps if the silver is the same grade.
You can rest your elbows on the table where the drawing is.. Before you start wash your hands in cold water.
Now take the plum bob and start anywhere you want and slowly move the PB across the paper. You may have to do this several times. Pay CLOSE attention to how the PB reacts. When the PB passes over the right area you will see and feel the PB move like it hit something. This will be very very gentle. When this happens move the PB away from the area and do it again but much slower than before. If this is the spot the PB will start moving in a circle-slowly at first but will increase over time and become stronger and stronger. Mark this spot and continue to dowse the map. Always check the spot even if this is not the spot where the coin was placed. There may be another silver piece located here.
It works for me and I think it will work for you as well since you are not negative about dowsing.

OK GUYS PEG LEG IS NO FOOL
no wind tonight so I was able to hold plumb bob steady. I took some sivler that was overspray form a job done in the past. Took a little piece made a PB / white thread, and had a friend hide the main part of the silver, on my boat, I went out on the dock so I didnt know where he hid it. Made a drawing of boat and went to work......Takes pacients but within 5 min i had the silver spinning in a circle the size of a silver dollar. Went to the place to see if thats where he hid it and it was there. I did this twice, both tims with extreme accuracy.
So don't knock the old guy, he know what hes talking about

Hi Guys,

The Emperor has got no clothes !!

Mariner

I can dowse my way to the center of the toilet in the dark, does that count?

Some of you guys...I dunno.

There is absolutely no science behind map dowsing. If it worked once or twice for you, it was nothing but a coincidence or chance. Sure sure, you can say, "you are not doing it right" or "you have to believe" or "it only works for some people." There has to be replication. Can you prove it repeatedly? And if map dowsing had replication, many, many, people would be using it (successfully) and finding treasure and minerals all over the place.

Map dowsing is what lazy people, foolish people, wishful thinkers, arm chair treasure hunters and people without money or resources resort to in lieu of real research, real science and technology and real successful recovery.

Oh yeah, this is where I am supposed to add IMHO. ;)

However, for you true believers in map dowsing, here is a website you can go to and win a million dollars.

EDIT BY WRECKDIVER1715
I expected a response from you that would be NEGATIVE and I was not disapointed.
You have free will and can think whatever you feel like BUT when you start calling NAMES the line has to be drawn.
I AM NOT LAZY. I may be foolish at times and that can be expected in all of us from time to time. You are now showing your true collors MR. EXPERT IN EVERYTHING.
I do NOT have to prove a damn thing to anyone. When I started this topic I said that this was a TEST and that I had never done this before but would give it a try and I will give it 100%.
So how about getting off your EDIT BY WRECKDIVER1715 and give eveyone a break.

Capt_T,
Good for you my friend.
Forget what JERKS have to say. We both know it works.
Have a great time doing your thing.

Pegleg - Cease and desist with the name calling and personal attacks! Just because someone disagrees with you does not require anyone to resort to name calling, and it's not tolerated at TreasureNet.

Tom is correct that this thread is actually about map dousing, and we do have a section dedicated to that subject.

This end's here and now.

I am locking this thread, and will move it to the proper forum.

Once moved to dowsing, I will unlock it for you, and you can douse away the day.

It has been suggested that I should leave this thread as is since it is shipwreck related, so I have unlocked it to allow further comment. However, I am still of the mind that this thread should be moved to the dowsing forum. I will hold off for a time to see how things develop with this thread.

Hey Peg Leg, the charts that cover Sebastian inlet to Ft Pierce are 11474 and 11476. Have you ever tried dowsing using "L" rods?

This one is a hard one to find a stance on (the thread, not dowsing). I'm not personally interested, but if he is trying to find shipwreck remains...I suppose it has its place here. Much like some others have commented though, I do miss the days when serious research and actual recoveries were the main topics discussed around here.

I'm off to go grind up some eye of newt, mix in a little skullcap root and dragons blood, and sprinkle it on my head. Then I will go jump in a lake, and acording to a witch-doctor friend of mine, treasure will magically materialize beneath me. No Really....IT WORKS! Just kidding Peg...I had to do it.

One thing that one must consider here is that we are dealing with the most advanced electronic device that will EVER exist and that is the HUMAN BRAIN.
If the legs of a frog and the eye of newte works for you then use it.
I also agree that it takes a lot of research AFTER you find a wreck but the main problem seems to be FINDING THE WRECK to begin with. Then after you find the wreck this is when the hard work starts. An ARKE as far as I know has NEVER found a wreck.
You can spend all the money in the world buying the most modern electroinc devices the HUMAN BRAIN can come up with and then spend the rest of you life learning how to use it.
Since 1715 we know what ships went down and what most were carrying so what is the problem here and that IS locating the ship to start with.
There is not a single device that can tell you what ship you may find until to actually start recovering artifacts and no matter what research you do YOU will have no idea what you have found until you dive on the wreck. Like I said THIS is where all your research will be applied.
Thanks
Peg Leg

Dick-NY, welcome to the Forums!

Well, not quite the same as a magnetometer... but allot less costly!

Seems all the map dowsing "true believers" ignored the last part of my thread..... (I was not commenting on long range locators, L rods or anything else, just map dowsing)

However, for you true believers in map dowsing, here is a website you can go to and win a million dollars.

If map dowsing works, and you can prove it, why not take on the Randi challenge????

I checked out the website.
All I can say is that it will cost some serious money to even get involved.
It is an uphill battle all the way.
I can buy a Lottery ticket for $1.00 and the chance of winning is much better.
But I expected as much.
So much for the CHALLENGE.
NO THANKS.
Peg Leg
I will end this conversation by saying ONE MORE TIME.
This is a TEST to see how it might or might not work.

Cornelius,
If they did do you think they would say a word-I doubt it very much.
ONE MORE TIME.
I started this TOPIC to see if I can get a few charts so that I could do some TEST and after YOU started asking questions I said what this TEST consisted of. Then the SHIP HIT THE SAND ;D.
I agree that this topic should be moved to another place like DOWSING.
I also DISAGREE that I am being a CLOWN. I was asked questions and I answered them as best I could and I do not know of a single person that has ever found a shipwreck by dowsing BUT there may come a time when this will happen WHO KNOWS.
Without charts and maps we may never know, right?
I can almost GUARANTEE that WHEN and not IF this does ever happen you will NOT read a word about it.
I will speak no more on this subject and ask that this topic be moved to DOWSING.
Thanks
Peg leg

Peg Leg, post your address so we can send you some charts and make this thread go away. Better yet try this you can download them, or have real ones sent right to your front door. They can probably even overnight them. If not you live in FL I suspect there is a boating store close by.
