Cherry picking - Two Roman Silvers

I had two sites on hand i wanted to scout today. Both were wheat fields and fresh drilled. I hit the first field with a roman villa site and noticed the whole area had footprints, row by row. Someone waited for drilling like i did and beat me by a couple hours as the soil where he dug was still damp. Whatever, i did the small site crossways to his rows and squeezed out some tiny lead a ringthing and a bronze coin in very good condition. The site is already hunted hard so i decided to move on to a nearby roman farm site.
You know it, same thing, footprints all over, accurate row by row. With only a hour left to spend i did the same like i did on the first site, walked crossways and managed a nice Denarius of Severus Alexander 222 AD and a bronze scrappy.
At home i cleaned the stuff i had in the pouch and the 'nice' Bronze i got on the villa turned out to be a Denarius of Caracalla 207AD. Low grade silver made it look like bronze.

I gotta say, the laws in Sweden are awful. But at least I don't have any competition, the closest detectorist I know of is an hours drive away.

We not only have lawful competition but can get unlawful as well (Night Hawks). That's why it took us years to build up the good relations with the Archies. I'm only speculating but I've always wondered why they have a lack of good detectorist, maybe they thought it was the devils tool.

I keep coming back & looking at this, & think to myself that I maybe came across a bit negative about what you 'might' have had!

What I should have focused on is the Severus Alexander, because the Denarius from this period are some of the worst debased type we find & yours is stunning silver content & condition.

I didn't read something negative Cru. If there was any, my english isn't good enough to notice.
As i don't have Denarii of the Severen dynasty to compare i'm just happy to have one of the nicest 'later' Denarii of the whole collection. Condition is stunning for sure. Something you otherwise only see with republic or early imperial silver.

Not joking, I was just guessing how some of them may of thought/think because its really put them back years & lost them millions of clues/finds.(that's just plan dumb, for well educated people) They had less problems with the Geophysical equipment. It is still happening because they don't train people in its use & they have very few experienced users. To me their org's should have those specialists like any other, its a no brainer.
