34 YEARS? WOW...a HEARTY CONGRATS to you Mr. and Mrs. RIVERRAT!!!!

Reading through this post, I see some of ya'll did not fair too well with the recent hurricane/tropcial storm. My prayers go out to you all and that things dry up quickly, power comes back on and things get back to some normalcy!!! And I will truly keep you all along the coast in my prayers with IKE coming up! Hopefully he will continue to down grade to a tropical storm!!!

I have to admit, some of us along the East Coast were a bit nervous with Hanna, then she turned out to be not much of anything. We have Nor'easterner that do us more damage, then with Ike on her tail...and not sure of his path...and glad Josephine gave up!.

See, Hanna was having a fling with IKE until she found out he was married. So, Hanna left town and Ike was coming after her. Well, Josephine got wind of it and was going after IKE. She was not about let her HOT AIR of a CANE go after Hanna and she was gonna fight.

I guess Ike gave up going after Hanna and Josephine finally realized that Ike was not worth it. Personnally, I think Hanna was trying to locate Gustav!!

I actually feel pretty frustrated I am here where it is so safe when so many loved ones are facing this misery! Prayin for all of ya and surely let me know if there is anything I can do beyond that!

You guys are NUTS! Especially you, WSD and Burdie!!

Drying out down here, for a change. Ahhhhhhhh. Now just have mosquitoes the size of nickles.

Judie called today! Got her phone to STAY up finally. Said power still may be out for several more days. They've replaced 5 power poles in her neighborhood that went down, but nothing is strung up on 'em. Others went down with trees laying across the lines, which held, but now they have to get the trees off of 'em.

Is it just me, or would it be better in the long run for power lines to be buried?? I know it costs more, but dang! Gotta be better than redoing them all the time, especially in THIS state! I KNOW! Job security...

TC, look out. You're always welcome here, as are RickyP, BEF, RR, Nana40, JMT, etc., and anybody else brave enough to bring their tents in from afar! (I'm leaving no one out who needs to escape.) The greenhouse is open! No gators in the yard ... yet ! Might have to shoo the chickens out, or cuddle with the cats.

Well everyone knows all your critters are fun to cuddle with I am soooo glad your starting to dry out!
We are getting wet now but not bad. It looks more TX bound last I saw but when I talked to Mel he was saying it changed again maybe Mexico?

I really feel bad for you with the skitters Jeff was out on porch last night and they ran him back in!


I HATE SKITTERS! The only thing I know they are good for is bird food!

Ya'll are all super stars to me, Just prayers for now thanks, We dont have the tall pines Like east of us so if there is Power disruption it wouldent be for long, I Have a generator just might have to do without AC.
If it countinues its projected path I'll cross brace the porch and go to the cellar.
Ifyall remmeber Gilbert of the early90's It had galveston pretty worried till 2 days out then the dang thing got so Big (took up the whole gulf) it controlled the wather patten itself and went straight across.
One of the most intresting storms I ever saw.

Hey Stoney,Gunsmoke picked a load up today just outside of Durant,in fact,there were 6 trucks from Crete there and they were all getting the same thing,40,000lbs of peanuts,I didn't know OK had peanuts.And that's not all,they are taking them to Georgia! Who I thought that's all they had was peanuts.Taking them to the Mars Co. so guess they are making snickers or something.And,yes,Noodle,he waved as he went through Rayville.

yeah yeah...the last eruption around here was a few hrs away and all we got was some ash and that was hmmmmm when I was in high school! That was atleast a couple years ago Okay...so it was in 1981 even rofl Have not felt the ground shake around here either....never in my life....might wanna get some more monopoly money just in case though!!

WSD, yes Okla. does produce quite a few peanuts and Durant claims the Worlds Largest Peanut but so does a few other places outside Okla. In fact, Dad and his brother both did some agronomy work on peanuts at OSU waaaay back when it was still Oklahoma A&M.
