"CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT 2008" Brand the calendar October10-12th for CTH2

Re: "CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT 2008" Brand the calendar October10-12th for CTH2

Well, here in Shreveport,La. the rain bands started hitting here about 2 hrs ago. Tornado warnings, flood warnings, high winds, rain, etc. are the norm here today. We still have power for now, getting reports on scanner that some trees are down here with about 7 more hours to go. Have reliable reports from south Louisiana of severe flooding in the southwest corner of state. This will take some weeks to recover down there. My wife is leaving here tomorrow for that region for search and recovery operations. This storm has devastated electric power in Texas and Louisiana and will take weeks to repair. I think from the reports on television, the video they show will give and estimate how powerful this storm has been. Not much else to report right now, keep all the people affected in your prayers.

Good Afternoon All! Getting just a little wet here, but nothing really bad. Sustained winds about 25-30, but the cabin and the greenhouse are still standing! Nothing like what they had predicted because Ike has stayed to the Texas side. He was a Big Boy in cloud cover and winds, but the rain has stayed tight to his center. Have been thinking of Juanmoretime today, as he's farther west than me; glad to see he's up and running. We still have some flooding in the area, but not bad now. Good to talk to WSD this morning, too! Evy, it'll be your turn with Ike this time tomorrow, I think. Thanks everyone for the concerns for us LA and TX folks. It's been one TRYING month!! -Noodle

RickyP??? You make it through ok?

Re: "CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT 2008" Brand the calendar October10-12th for CTH2

I just got off my roof tying down a blue tarp on the back part. I'm now soaking wet. The winds are not quite as strong, raining off and on, power out all over town with lots of trees down. My power is still up by the grace of God! No flooding here to speak of, no tornado's have touched down but they have been viewed on radar. Other than that, just a normal :icon_scratch: day in the neighborhood! ::) Needless to say, the weather has been as handful today. I hope others are doing okay!!!

I'll report anything else interesting that happens after I go get a shower and dry off. I'll called RickyP last night to check on him and got no answer. He's probably okay though, he's probably been surfing in the gulf enjoying the big waves! Lol! :headbang:

Well, Mental Granny, I may have been wrong when I spoke this afternoon. You may NOT get anything tomorrow. That little boy has decided to make a right turn just when he got due west of us. Might be a rocky night here. ::) :P Hey, Juan!

We've been blessed. Still have all powers and utilities...

Made it fine Brenda.. Been up on the roof today getting ready to start tearing off the old shingles. Really don't want to take on this project, but it looks like it'll be several months before I can get someone to do it for me. I've recruited both the youngin's, so hopefully it wont take us too long.

Steve,

Sorry I missed your call bud. Cell phones haven't been working real good for the past couple of weeks. Were all okey dokey.... I talked with my brother from long beach Mississippi this afternoon. He told me they had at least a 10'-" surge on the Mississippi coast. The water was high enough to get over Hwy 90.

No water before we went but on the way home the kids saw barracades almost completly sumerged and water almost over highway a park that is now a lake ... when it crested it did it fast!
