Well we made it through our brush with Ike Yesterday. No power from 10 AM until 7 PM. Lots of trees down, lots of wind damage. 70 MPH winds here for about two hours and then it blew away. St. Louis got hit hard with lots of flooding, and a death or two.
Power's back on and we seem to be doing ok now. Hope all is well.
Burdie has the Cell phone coverage out your way gotten any better since last year?

Yikes....didn't think about that! Will I have cell coverage there Evy?? So glad I know someone in the area with AT&T that would know! lol ugh....gotta run to the doc and will be back again in awhile!

Well you didn't officially ask me but my wife and I are planning on hitting the road on Thursday, staying in Springfield MO overnight and then back on the road by 9 AM. Means we should hit Ark City by 1 PM. Check in and then head over to Caldwell by 3 PM or so. Is that going to be earlier enough Burdie or too early? We need to get the prizes sorted you know.

My plane lands in Witchita at 3:50pm on the 9th.....I understand my ride will be waiting to take me to Caldwell so I oughtta be waitin for ya all when you get there if you are coming in Friday! lol

Blackwell got flooded pretty good according to Jeff.You guys staying in Blackwell,might ought to check with your motel to make sure it survived.Too bad we are not all staying at the same place.About 6or7 of us right now and another 3or4 soon are in Ark City where they have a free hot breakfast buffet and it's only 4mi from a prime rib buffet.And I think Ark City is just a bit closer to Caldwell,no big deal.I'm sure the things that happen in Blackwell and in Ark City will not remain unplublized for long.Of course Charlie is in the Presidential A$$ suite in Ark City.I'll probably hit Ark City about noon or 11 or 10 or9am because when I plan a trip,there's no sleep the night before and I finally just get in the car and GO!

I plan on leaving about 10:00 or so Friday morning. I'm only aoubt 4 hours away. I'll stop by the hotel at Blackwell and check in and then on to Caldwell. Since you guys sold Burdie's house I'm not sure where to go now! I'm bringing my 4-wheeler again this year and plan on loading it down with water and ice...if it's hot like last year. Let's see.... a bottle of water for $6.00...hmmmm should make a tidy profit! Seriously, the water is free and if you prefer soda pop, toss it into the cooler and I'll deliver what ever you want. Hmmmmmm think I will have to get a hold of Jeff and see where my deed to the property and the keys are. Since I bought that house in Caldwell I should have a place to stay there now...

What is a cell phone??
We have a great system here. If you have bars it works. If you don't have bars it doesn't work.
The doors will be open at 12:00 Friday so any time after that is fine. It will be at the same place. I will post pictures later of the place.

OK just so EVERYONE knows I got in MAJOR trouble last year for not calling home Friday through Sunday.
NO cell phone service in Caldwell and my wife would NOT believe me. She still mentions it to this day...
Oh yeah I had Cingular and the hotel phone Did not work either!

The place is next to a pretty good little eatire across from $General and Walmart
Good Place to eat in Ark City is the Green Door it is steaks Ive never ate there but for 30 years I have heard how good it is
Monty it is HUGH we rode around it and stopped to get the pics that were posted but just to do that I can say it is HUGH so the 4 wheeler will be great even more than last time!
