Went to a new permission to today for about and hour just to see whats going on there...Its a bed and breakfast. .11acres..The inn was built in 1760s..2nd family since it was built. ..Anyway was just roaming around this field and I got this hit that said it was 6inch down. ..Dug down and it was more like 10...New it was going to be big... this is what I saw.
I could not believe it....I was over the moon
So I slowed down and about 50 feet from there I found this...thought it was the other half but I was wrong...Its the eagle. ..Now I dont know why these would be there...If they are civil war. .I know there was training camps in the area...
Any help with I'd would be great....
I do know there was fighting going on in the revolutionary war...BUT I DONT THINK SO.....Thanks in advance. ..
George. .

Wow.... now that is a BANNER find (got my vote). Think it is safe say the combo is a relic hunters dream. Sounds lame to even say "CONGRATS". Gotta throw in another WOW though.

Thanks TNguns...
George

Rare and complete. that is a hell of a find!

I'm speechless... AMAZING find... both halves of a rare buckle... I'm voting BANNER!

Big Congrats on an incredible find! What an awesome piece of history!

i voted banner! totally unreal! So happy for you man! Couldnt even imagine finding something like that!

That is so dang cool. And the second-hand buzz I just experienced, looking at this stuff, made me realize I want to be a relic hunter when I grow up!

Thanks abe....I was thinking the same thing...Or worse. .Me finding on side and someone else finding the other...What then???? Lol..

I tell you what....you already got a shovel. Smack him over the head, take his half and bury something instead of digging something up:laughing7:
J/k, George. Of all the wonderful, unbelievable things you have found lately, I do believe you have found the absolute BEST thing posted on TNet this whole year! I have only voted banner a few times, but this deserves to be there if anything ever did! I am with Tnguns....congrats is lame for something like this. I really hope to get to shake your hand very soon!
My banner vote is in!

Well George, it looks like the consensus is in that it is a genuine and complete U.S. Waist Belt Plate! I just wish that I had knowledge of these, so that when we talked, I could have said congrats on a fabulous and rare find at that time! I told you that even though the Continental Dollar was a copy, that with your luck, that you would find something rare soon and man did you ever. My Banner vote is in for you. I can only dream of the other rare finds you are going to make on the new site!

Well I would be digging deep into wallet my friend....deep deep into my wallet. If that didn't work you would have to use force. Rear naked choke or an arm bar

Yeah just looked at my text messages first pic came in at 3:07, then we talked 5 min 13 sec, you wanted me to PM Cannonball to find out what it was and you said "I have to look for the other half", then at.3:30 you sent me the other pic of the other half. Unreal, it was like I was there. 24 mins to find it and take a pic and send it to me!

Rare finds vino! The sash buckle portion with the eagle is a seldom found US 1833 NCO "Non-commissioned -Officer" buckle. The sash buckle with the crossed cannons is a portion of another for the artillery! They must have been worn together?

Dig is correct except for one thing...it was a cast sword belt rig, not a sash buckle. 1833-1839,
