Civil war state badge? Medal? Firefighter related? MD Find PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Found this metal detecting! Says TENNESSEE it's brass with patina! Could it be from the civil war? Firefighter medal? Please help! Not sure what I've got!

Maybe a silly guess, but it looks like the ends have a place where a chain could attach? Could it be one of those things that hang around the neck of a bottle of fancy whisky? Just an absurd stab in the dark while you wait for the experts to chime in.

Thanks trigger!! I'll look into it! I've saw military medals that had the ribbon and medal hanging from a chain attached to something similar. But different state and closer to ww2 era. We do have the Jack Daniels distillery here in tn! Maybe you're on to something!

A little more research done and I believe this is bronze rather than brass!

I think more likely is a conference delegate pin/bar. Could be from a company, fraternal, etc., including the possibility of a veterans organization reunion. Not, however, a military issued item, in my opinion.
