CladSmoke CRH Log

Haha, thanks fellas. I do nickels bcs I am conducting a year long study to see what the area averages are for war, buffalo, and 2009. I could probably average out 40 and 50 as well, but would need to adjust the spreadsheet. Plus I like nickels and have had the most consistent success with them. Dimes have only given me 2 silvers and boxes of halves continually disappoint me. I'll mix it up every now and again for fun though. My standing weekly nickel boxes are 6 and I figure why bother with it since its working and the teller/banks are nice to me. Thanks again for following this thread.

Can you guys see any of the recent photos I've posted? They do not show up for me for some reason?

I see them perfectly fine Clad! Question--I eventually would like to sell all my nickels (30s, 40s & 50s). Should I try to Sell or hold on to them for awhile?

I would be interested in what the results of your study are. I log all my searches and I even have things broken down percentages of each year of pre-60's. If you want to see what I have gotten so far from CRHing just let me know and I'll post them.

Pictures are showing up just fine. I agree this is my favorite Log thread. Clads log inspired me to hunt nickels more than anything else. I'm filling Whitman folders and I've found that I'm having trouble with some of the dates that aren't keys. Weird.

I've wondered the same thing as I have accumulated a few rolls as well. Might have to start throwing them back.

Not sure what to tell you to be honest. I really haven't thought about what to do with mine either. I've acquired quite a few 30-50s. I will probably keep all the 30s and maybe enough to make a couple nice rolls for each date and mint. After that, who knows. Any one ever try to sell any rolled by date and mint?

I would be interested to see how you're doing and in what part of the country. Did you also separate out each year and mint or just by year? What kind of volume do you do? Thanks!

Here is my percent by year. For example, 1941 nickels made up 11.34% of all my pre-'60 nickel finds. I do not keep track of mint mark. You can get an idea of the volume I search and my finds by looking at my signature. If you'd like a copy of my tracking sheet PM me and I can send it to you. It is in Excel.

Interesting. I would suspect that my pre 60 jefferson finds are quite similar although I do not break them down by year. I'm sure my most common dates are 1940, 1941, 1958 and 1959, with the latter 2 being the most common I believe.

You're the nickel machine! I love reading your thread. Don't forget to leave some for me since you're in the state next to me. Do you have your totals for the year listed anywhere?

Haha thanks. I'm glad you all enjoy the thread. I will have my year totals in 10 more boxes. Coming soon!
