Cleaning corrosion?

What’s the best/easiest way to clean corrosion off of something without damaging it? Thanks

I use a product at work called DE-OXIT d-5 i use on medical electronics alot, mostly gold plated connectors that stuff is awesome and i havent seen any signs of damage....
