E-trac, Explorer II, Xterra30, Whites Prizm IV
Found these items today in my sister's yard. Patience is recquired because in 1 hour I dug 35 signals and only came away with the "keepers" I have pictured here. My third Hotwheel car, a 58 Wheat, a 59 Penny a 95 Nickel, an 80 Penny, a strange piece of bent metal, a round copper ring, a fish hook, the LEAD lid off of a Mason type jar (close but no coins found in the broken glass found in the hole) and brass screw and a spoon with the following on the back: WMA Rogers Silver then in really small print Silver Nickel and then there is something on the spoon that says something like Asomething Plated?? Nothing too great but I am only being able to get out for 30 mins to an hour at a time a few times a week. I do try to go out one night a week with my buddy for 4-6 hours of detecting. I am way jealous of him because every time I talk to him he is out finding cool stuff!! Oh well at least it is better than not going at all!!

If you are digging a lot of Junque, Crape, hand disinterred crape, whatever, you are like most beginners and find it hard to walk away from a signal. Try this. Sweep the object in one direction then change to swing 90 degrees from the first direction. Try and find a correlation between the change in tone and what you find when you dig. I have found that most times the signal will stay pretty constant and solid on a "good" target and will break up or sometimes disappear (depending on how you have your discrimination set) altogether on a "leave it". It's an easy thing to do and should help up the percentage of "keepers." Nice job on the nickel. They are tough.

I am not familiar with your detector so I don't know it it has VDI, if so the same thing applies. The number should stay pretty contstant when swinging from 2 different directions.

Always exceptions but worth a try.
