Clover Field Treasure.

Howdy Folks. Returned to the nasty clover field with various other vegetation getting in the way. I had my little Nel Snake coil on to make any attempts to swing a tad bit easier. Located the trashiest spot of the field and began to thrust and jab my coil into any spot I could muster a little wiggle of a swing. Got some scrap brass, an old brass "grommet", HUGE lead object, mangled fork, Schrader Universal Valve thingy, a brass do dad, and a real SHOCKER for me and very nice 1876 Philadelphia Seated Dime. I was quite pleased as I might only have 4 Seated Dimes now. I knew this field would hold old coins but, swinging it is a challenge to say the least. Looks like it's worth the hassle though. Hey brother. Would you mind bringing your "steam roller" over to this field and smashing all this flipping vegetation?!? :BangHead:

It's a nightmare to swing right now. Hopefully once the clover dies and the rest of it things will be a little better. Also the river runs along this field and I plan and getting into the woods along there as well. Used to be one of the cities dumping sights for trash way back in the day. We used to rummage through this area and find old bottles, spoons, and other weird stuff. They bulldozed the trash and put in a baseball diamond. Stuff got spread out all over the place. Could be some more coins in this mess! :hello:

Normally I don't mind sharing a lot of details of where I find stuff. This sight has huge potential for old coinage if I can ever get this vegetation down. I got some pretty tough competition chasing treasure in my parts right now so I will keep this spot on the down low in case they're lurking around in the shadows. He hee! I tell ya' brother. I am SOLD on field hunting producing the old coins we want notched off our bucket lists. I am more hopeful and filled with expectation of finding old stuff in fields than I have been in all other spots I have been hunting the last several years. It's work for sure but, I am really "digging" it! :headbang:

I will think of something to clear this stubble patch of scrub. A nice old fashion sickle thingy would clear some if not wear me out! I might head into the woods along the river and see what's lurking in the dirt up there. After it frosts a few times hopefully things will clear up a bit. :icon_thumright:
