Was at my local stop and shop today and checked the coin star machine. The reject tray had a small hand full of coins. 8 pennies, 2 nickels, 2 Canadian quarters and these 3 beauties! 1942S, 1947D, 1964.

Wow congrats! I never see anything in the reject tray. Guess I need to insert something into the tray to dampen the noise of the reject coins - kidding!

Nice to see GW is still around.

I have found 2 silvewr dimes and 3 Canadian coins not at the same time 2 different times but I check them each time I walk by one no matter where I am at love the ones in wallmart stores

Makes me wonder what slipped through into the bag. [emoji30]

Probably nothing did. Those Coinstar are very good at rejecting silver. Not sure how good they are at rejecting wheats I have found a few of them. I have even found a few war nickels.

Lately, no silver, a few wheat and lots of foreign, but, in past years , I average about 3-4 silvers a year... one time at Walmart, someone, even put 2 merc. dimes on the top shelf, by the dump in tray, like they were junk..... LOL

My guess would be nothing is in the bag either. My father happen to be with me and he was so excited to see silver coinage. He is 65 I am 35 so silver coins were long gone before I was born but my father loved seeing them. He said "oh real money" lol

Wheat Cents, Indian Head Cents, Buffalo Nickels, and War Nickels are intended to be accepted by Coinstar. Some years of Wheats and IH Cents might get rejected because they are bronze rather than brass. Buffalo Nickels and War Nickels will only get rejected by chance - just as some modern coins get rejected for who knows why.

Incredible! still looking for my first one.

Great score! The best I've ever found was 17 clad quarters a couple months ago. Got 5 corroded zincolns and a new Canadian quarter last week. An Arabic coin a couple years ago. Other than that, somebody's always faster on the draw than I am!

But, at least I've been delighted a couple times.

Nice quarter finds. I've been checking these machines now when I go shopping. Haven't found anything good yet but it embarrasses my boys, lol.

Sweet find. I have to watch the reject bin like a hawk. I feel an intense pain in my coin collector heart when I see little kids grabbing those coins, only caring that its a quarter or a dime, nevermind the fact that it could be silver. I have gotten lucky recently finding a lot of wild dimes in our coinstar. No silver canadians recently. But congrats on the finds. Don't forget to check the canadian money for silver. Anything pre 1967 is 80% silver fyi for their dimes and quarters.

Sincerely Garoulady
