Looking to make a trip to Coker Creek. Are there any camp sites right by the river. Any help would be great. Its a 8hr drive. Also has anyone been there before? How was your exp?

If you have any better idea's for a place to go within a 8hr drive from ohio

deposit grades should be about even

I would like to go to virginia. There are not a lot of public places to go. If you know any please tell me.

A good place to go in Virginia that allows public access as long as your stay below the ordinary high water mark (aka keep your feet wet) is contrary creek right by lake Anna. Also check out the VA gold forum. If you ask around there in sure you could find someone to sponsor you. There are also camp grounds around lake Anna.

Also you should look up the central virginia gold prospectors (cvgp) and contact them they have about 9 claims. Talk with them and I'm sure you could work out something with them to access there claims without being a member.

Also what type of equipment would you be using?

sluice box, classifier's 1/8 /1/4 1/2 ,shovel, screw driver, hand shovel,homemade crack scraper,3 pans 12,14,16, homemade rock hammer. 2 5 gallon buckets. and some ice cold beer for when i'm done.........................who cares if it winter or not

Haha nice. And winter hasn't quite hit down here yet. My friends and are planning on doing some dredging this weekend regardless of the weather.

Let me know if you decide to come to virginia. I live right in the middle of the gold pyrite belt.
