Have you tried taking your pictures with lighting from the side across the coin to show better shadows??
or dusting with flour and lightly wiping off to show the high points??

I'm working on digging up different types of lighting right now..i have no experience in photogrsphy till last night , when I realized using my work light.. so ive grabbed every different kind of flash light and light bulb I seen today..since I finally got that first shot last night..all I was trying to do was to save my phone from dieing.. so I used a flashlight..and bam my blank coin wasn't just a slug no mo.... thank you very much for the advice
