In that one pic, it looks like an Elephant token...yikes...a rare Colonial! It probably isn't though.

You know, I agree--it really does resemble the Elephant Token. My advice is don't clean it. Consult DonSJ for some advice on this one. Certainly don't do olive oil yet if you wanna give peroxide a chance.

This one could be a banner find...

Here's the pics of the token:

When you say about the size of a penny, are you referring to an Indian head or a large cent? It's tough to tell the size in the picture because I dont know how big those buttons are.

By the way. Those are some great finds. I really hope you've got a valuable coin/token there.

WOW :o I agree with the 2 above it does closley resemble an elephant token. Can you make out what some of the words say?

Either way those are some great finds. ;D

Holy smokes mullet man I think your right ! ;) :D It is the size of an indianhead penny not a large cent. Thanks Y'all ,man i gotta cheak this out a little closer ! Hey Donnnnnn !!!!!! need your expertise over here please ;D

Possibly Civil War token of some sort?

Darn it,wrong size but i still beleve it's early I been cheakin it out closer and will let y'all know what i find.My luck it's probably a well worn wheetie :'(

I know that this is probably a far cry from maybe but the "o" on one side and the shape on the other could it posibly be a Gloucester there are only like 2 or 3 known to exist but he could have found another one. ??? miracles do happen you know ;D what do you guys think, thats about the same size as an indian head.

If it is the size of an IH, it isn't an Elephant token.

I see the "o," but I can't picture the reverse side correctly - it does look like a token of some sort though - my fingers are crossed that it's something neat :)

I kind of see what you are saying here but the Gloucester tokens are brass. Does brass corrode the same way copper does. This coin looks copper to me.

I believe that they corrode about the same way but a coin that old its hard to say, please keep us posted on what it turns out to be, or any other "clues" that you find

Congrats on some neat finds. Looking forward to seeing what the mystery item is.
That's a large button in the upper right. Colonial? What size is it? (cm)
Thanks,
MM

Keiser,

I was just looking through the buttons I found this year and I saw that I have one like the one you found. Condition isn't quite as good as yours though. I believe the site I found mine at dates back to the late 1700's. I'm sure there is alot more to find there. Good luck. Here is a pic of my button.

I'm not sure if I'm seeing things here but if you invert the first picture I think I see a flying bird (Eagle?) like on the front of the flying eagle cent. I'm not saying its a flying eagle, thats just what I think I see. Does anyone know if they made other coins or tokens with that design or a similar design on it?

Try to post some better pics if you can.
