Colonial / Revolutionary Period Horse Stirrup

I dug this rusty ol stirrup and didn't think too much of it and my close detecting buddies suggested I look into it closer! Turns out it's way older than I thought. Cleaned up well. Haven't found much internet information about it, I think it's still a cool piece of recovered American History!
