Wrong side of the country for him I think. He settled in the west. They are hard to identify, as they could be stamped with the initials of someone living in the home, or the initials of a merchant. Ill probably never know

Fantastic! Really like that one.

The Canadians have been nailing the wax seals this year. That?s three that I?ve seen.

That seal matrix is a beauty!! Counter stamped coppers are a nice find as well. Congrats!

I think any of us would be thrilled with a complete seal, but this bird (dove) design is especially nice, in my opinion. Congrats! As for the counter stamped coin, mbcuce was just saying that he'd love to find one and I agreed. Within our group we've found a fair number of coppers, but none counter stamped or otherwise altered. Anyway, something to keep searching for.

Wow...your seal matrix is a fantastic find. It could be the proud centerpiece of any colonial relic collection!

I?ve found two, one with a colonists face engraved no initials, and one with a polished flat stone most likely
Colonial bling. Among my favorite finds. Yours is a beaut.

Amazing-looking seal matrix! Are you going to melt some wax and show us the positive? It would be awesome to see it function again after 250-300 years.

I might do that actually! I'll post a pic in this thread when I have time to do it.
