Colonial wax seal matrix

Dug my first complete seal matrix yesterday. I've found a frame, but never one with the stone intact. Needless to say, I was pretty pumped! Also got a kgiii, thimble, toe tap, counterstamped copper and a buckle from the same site.

Wrong side of the country for him I think. He settled in the west. They are hard to identify, as they could be stamped with the initials of someone living in the home, or the initials of a merchant. Ill probably never know

I think any of us would be thrilled with a complete seal, but this bird (dove) design is especially nice, in my opinion. Congrats! As for the counter stamped coin, mbcuce was just saying that he'd love to find one and I agreed. Within our group we've found a fair number of coppers, but none counter stamped or otherwise altered. Anyway, something to keep searching for.

The seal stone itself is about 5/8" x 1"

I?ve found two, one with a colonists face engraved no initials, and one with a polished flat stone most likely
Colonial bling. Among my favorite finds. Yours is a beaut.

I might do that actually! I'll post a pic in this thread when I have time to do it.
