I scored permission to hunt a 15 acre track and it has a creek all the way down the side of it. I mainly explored it today so I brought my camera with me. I found allot of debitage, there was black flint cobbles every where so there should be some keepers when the water goes down a bit. I did find a backed knife and a thick scraper. Most everything was broken due to all the rocks. Hope you enjoy the view, rock
Im going to add the first pics to this, well try.

Sure is a pretty area!!

Well there was more pics but I guess they got kicked out.

Sure is a pretty area!!

What type of stone do you think it is? Its got a creamy feel to it. They sure did like it better than the black flint.

The creek looks good.
Hopefully you'll do well there.

Good looking creek Rock. Did you see any areas on the bank that had more flakes than any where else? Looks like that creek floods some. I am sure the artifacts are pushed all down it. Pretty place to hunt for sure.

I see some how I posted 2 threads :icon_scratch: The rest of the pics are on the other. Dont ask me how that happened. But yeah the one pic of the flake on that sand bar most of the white flakes were on it. Its a soft sand type instead of cobbles. Id like to sift it if I had a sift that is.

If you have water you can just take a piece of screen and put some wood handles on each side and sift and toss real quick. Cost just a couple of bucks. If you want I will shoot a pic of one I use when I don't want to haul in my box or bucket sifters.

Nice looking spot for a still! I mean to find artifacts. Heck, find artifacts while running a still!

Of course show it.

This is one of mine.
It's just hardware screen and 1x2s
Easy and quick to make.

The first one I ever made was just a section of plastic laundry basket..haha.
I found my first point with it.

The water should reside a bit by next week. We had about a inch and a half of rain last night. Hopefully some of that black flint will pop up. I love the black flint points. This site is rite across from one of my other hunting areas. Maybe a mile away just on a different creek.

If you just had rain..you should be on the site you just found what is probably your best point and all the other artifacts like gang busters.
Did you even stop there?

I called and it was a no go due to the water standing on the property. The cover crop is coming in fast and I was hoping. Its one of the rules I have to follow. He said in a couple of days I can hunt it.

Ahhh.. dems da rules.

Rock, I'm not sure what type of boots you wear while water hunting. I recently found the holy grail of water proof boots. These are comfortable and will not leak. Well.... Unless you go in water over knee high. They are Muck boots. You can wear them folded down as such

In shallow water. Or.... Like this

For when the going gets tough. I got these on sale for $90.00 at Tractor supply. Regular price is $130.00 if I'm not mistaken. Well worth every penny. They also grip on those moss covered ass busters.

And self clean. Mud doesn't stick in the grip causing each foot to weigh 136 pounds. Just thought you guys would appreciate knowing about a fine boot. We all know the soggy sock in 32 degree weather is no fun. All of us but gator. He can wear Birkenstocks all year for his hunts. The hunts that don't require flippers and gills. Lol! Just kidding you Gator. You can't help that you live in the perfect climate.

...could be some sort of chalcedony....

Good lookin boot Rusty.
