Found this awesome confederate buckle metal detecting a early 1800s site. What’s interesting is I found this in Northwest Ohio. 🤔 so I’m curious how it wound up here. It’s slightly curved I’m assuming from being hit by farm machinery but others looks great!

Ok give me a minute and I’ll add a picture of the back
Please do... PS... the "curve" you mention is normal.... this was designed this way.

Like i mentioned about in post addressing CBG... i am a novice compared to him in Cival War Items.

BUT... I have handled quite a few over the years and seen hundreds of these and other buckles of the period...
Both Real AND fake... and i will tell you... BY FAR more fake.

In fact as far as real ones... i have seen very few in person.

No... i know a few tidbits of knowledge's here and there in this area... :)

Besides i was asked to be here. :P

So... Post away. heh

Ok... my vote after these new pictures is...

Real......... And definitely a SUPER RARE killer find... Well done.... and of course a banner on T net.

In fact... your buckle is what i would personally classify as "textbook".
