Fellow TNeters,
(First part correction -- from Don SJ -- appears to be CONN. Copper, not KG III)
Here are some cool finds from recent outings that Earthworks just photographed for me (thanks, dude). The first I am almost certain is a King G III, though it's hard to see. The first photo is the front, which is hard to tell anything from the photo, but in person the white area is raised above the coin and appears to be a bust facing right. The second photo is the back with the only thing visible the letter "N" you will see at the top/middle. It's rotated that way so you can see the "N" in the photograph, but when I line it up with one of my other KG III's, the "N" lines up with the "N" in Hibernia on the back (around the 2 o'clock position). This was found at the old summer camp that happens to be in a colonial area, so it was one of those really lucky finds (and the second time I've found a colonial coin in a situation I didn't expect to; the other was underneath an old horse racing track, also in a colonial area).
The next find is a very large buckle. There's no object for perspective, but this is the largest buckle I've found, the size of the palm of your hand, cool green too. This was found at a colonial site. The next is a very nice looking eagle medal that clearly has the part at the top wide enough for a ribbon. Does anyone recognize this? It was found at a house that dates to the Rev. War, but it must be newer. The back has nothing on it. I'm not sure of the metal it's made of. Thanks for checking it out.
