Continuous squeal when in the water

I have a Minelab Manticore detector. When I get in the water at the beach, it's almost one long, continuous squeal I get, like the sea floor is made of metal or something. I changed the sensitivity level to both high and low, but no change. I'm not super-familiar with a lot of the more complicated settings, like the custom ones.

Any suggestions?

I don't own a Manticore, but I believe that there is a beach/saltwater program thats available as a pre-set. Have you tried that?

Make sure all the cables are installed properly, not cross threaded ect.

Did you noise cancel and ground balance as well?

Yup, make sure you're in a beach mode for salt water and that you're in multifrequency.
